Exploring the Relation between Teacher Candidates’ Emotional Intelligence and their Educational Practices: A Case Study in Greece

Classroom management is a difficult task for teacher candidates and significant barrier to being an effective teacher. The aim of this study was twofold: a) examine the relation between student teachers’ emotional intelligence their educational practices b) whether significantly predicted classroom management. instruments used data collection were TEIQue, self-report questionnaire that measures trait intelligence, TEP-Q, assessing three dimensions management: communication, organization, relationship. sample comprised third year undergraduate teachers in Department Pedagogy Primary Education at National Kapodistrian University Athens, who had first experience with teaching practice primary schools. Descriptive statistics correlational models showed there statistically correlation factors.
